This is a screenshot of my second blog post. It's almost ready to be submitted!
Today, I spent several hours fine-tuning my second blog post and writing the conclusion. Originally, I wanted to cover four different pirates - two in the first blog post and two in the second blog post. Unfortunately, I knew I was running out of time and one of my sources/pirates had such rich material that I realized I needed to just focus on him. And that I did! Blog post number two only focused on one pirate - Henry Twisdon. For this post, I had to continue to cut my words down to a manageable size, and began looking for a few pictures that are required. For these pictures, I needed to keep in mind the guidelines for every image I will use, including a caption, alt text, and the URL. In addition, I added more links to secondary sources; I think my other blog had more links so I wanted to make sure this had as much.
Writing the conclusion was quite fun; what Twisdon went through was crazy! He was basically forced into committing piracy and had no other choice (or else, he would have been killed). He eventually found himself in the middle of two warring factions of pirates who were fighting over who was in charge. This was not a figurative experience, this was literal. When things came to blows, Twisdon had to look out for himself. While the two factions shot at each other, he managed to escape a cave system and made it into the forest of the island they were on. Eventually a British ship came upon the island and they helped Twisdon go back to England. There he recuperated from his terrifying ordeal and then wrote a book. This post was really fun to write because of all the twists and turns that Twisdon went through. I hope my blog posts get published on the Law Library's blog!
