This is a screenshot of Jennifer and I having our virtual meeting.
Jennifer works remotely from Florida and I am based in Texas.

Earlier today, I had a chance to meet one-on-one with my practicum supervisor, Jennifer Gonzalez. We were originally scheduled to meet on Tuesday but due to a last-minute minor emergency on her part, we rescheduled for today. Though our intern cohort has more than 40 participants, there are less than 10 of us doing this internship as part of our school requirements. Jennifer provided time for people like me to discuss what's needed by our school. Before our meeting, I looked over INFO 5090's list of requirements and sent these to Jennifer in an email, hoping that our meeting could be as efficient as possible. I am very thankful for Jennifer, as she is so warm and friendly, and especially reassuring that our internship will not be a difficult one but a great opportunity for us to learn about how the law works in the United States.

Due to how busy Jennifer is with her job, she doesn't have the capacity to meet with me individually, as recommended by UNT's practicum guidelines. However, she said she will stay behind a few minutes each week during our large group meetings and see if I need to speak with her about something. Though we won't have a weekly individual meeting, Jennifer feels that our weekly check-in email (an internship requirement) will be a good way to touch base, especially as she requires specific things from interns each week. I like looking ahead, so I told her about UNT's practicum assignment of the intern-supervisor interview. She said she is happy to do this with me on the optional individual meeting day during the week of June 24th. She preferred that I send her my questions in advance so she can be prepared. We also briefly discussed the intern blog post assignment; she emphasized that we use the Law Library's digital collections as a jumping off point to our blog post topic. Again, after speaking with Jennifer, I feel more assured that this will be a great internship!
